A former Willard man was sentenced to 10 months in prison Tuesday for forging a woman’s check.
Jerrod D. Durr, 25, now of Tiro, received about 2 1/ 2 months of jail-time credit toward the 10-month term. He must reimburse Vacationland Credit Union nearly $15,096 — the amount of money in all the forgery cases.
Durr pleaded guilty Tuesday to one count each of forgery and receiving stolen property for an incident between July 10 and 14. In exchange, prosecutors dismissed four counts of forgery.
The Norwalk Police Department investigated Durr’s case. His plea deal and prison term were a joint recommendation between Huron County Assistant Prosecutor Richard Woodruff and public defender David Longo.
