Florida Woman Who Was Switched at Birth Opens Up About Her Life Post-Scandal: ‘I Couldn’t Handle the Resentment’

A Florida woman who made national headlines as the focus of a shocking switched at birth horror story at age 10 is opening up about her tumultuous years out of the spotlight.

In 1989, Kimberly Mays became a media sensation when genetic tests revealed that she had been switched with another baby shortly after her birth at Hardee Memorial Hospital in Wachula, Fla. on November 29, 1978.

Her biological parents, Ernest and Regina Twigg, were sent home with a baby girl named Arlena, who suffered from a congenital heart defect and died at 9 years old. After a blood test revealed Arlena was not their biological child, the Twiggs fought to gain custody of Kimberly, accusing her father, Robert Mays, of bribing the hospital to switch the infants due to Arlena’s illness.

In August 1993, then 14-year-old Kimberly won a highly publicized lawsuit

Russell Tovey Juggles B’way and ‘Looking’

The last time Russell Tovey was on Broadway, he crossed the Atlantic with the cast of “The History Boys,” a massive success in the West End. That was almost a decade ago, and in the years since, Tovey’s profile has increased dramatically. Now he’s back in New York City with another hit London import—but this time one with which he had nothing to do originally.

The production is “A View From the Bridge,” last seen on Broadway just four years after “The History Boys” premiered. The reaction to director Ivo van Hove’s minimalist reimagining, starring Mark Strong as misguided patriarch Eddie Carbone, was so wildly enthusiastic that the show found its way west within the year. But original Rodolpho

Author Bashed Teen With Bottle Over Negative Book Review

A self-published author has been convicted in an assault involving a teenager who had left a negative review on something he had written. Investigation Discovery’s Crimefeed reports that 28-year-old Richard Brittain admitted to his actions in a case that is getting a lot of attention on social media, which has saved him from having to go through a lengthy trial.

The incident reportedly took place in October, 2014, — more than a year ago. However, the 28-year-old U.K. man entered a guilty plea in court this week, and is now awaiting sentencing. Since he has admitted to his crime in court, the details have been published, which is why the case is getting so much attention right now.

The Daily Mail reports

COBB COUNTY, GA (CBS46) –

A young mother was shot to death right in front of her baby. The suspected killer is now behind bars, awaiting trial, all because of a dedicated team of detectives.

“It’s truly difficult, especially when I look at my grandbaby and I see her smiling and she has her mother’s dimples – and just how unfair this truly is. It just…this isn’t right. It’s so wrong in so many ways,” said Gloria Marshall.

Marshall has bittersweet memories of her daughter, Danielle. The 23-year-old nursing student was shot dead in their Powder Springs home in January 2013.

Danielle’s infant daughter was home at the time. Investigators found her crawling near her mother’s body.

It took more than two and a half years for police to make an arrest.

“There are real people out there that are living everyday with some traumatic experience
