Now a two-hour Investigation Discovery special, Scott Peterson: An American Murder Mystery, will air on Wednesday, November 29, that aims to take a deep, intimate look into her husband Scott Peterson‘s investigation and trial that became a media frenzy back in 2003.

Investigation Discovery Revisits the Petit Family Murders More Than 10 Years Later

It’s been more than ten years since Cheshire, CT residents Jennifer Hawke-Petit and kids Hayley and Michaela were murdered in cold blood by two men who broke into the family home in the middle of the night and held them hostage for hours. Only the father, Dr. William Petit Jr., survived after having been beaten with a baseball bat and tied to a pole in the basement.

On Monday night’s episode of People Magazine Investigates on Investigation Discovery, People Editor-in-Chief Jess Cagle and Jennifer’s sister, Cynthia Hawke-Renn, recounted a particularly disturbing moment — when Jennifer went to the bank to cash a $15,000 check hoping to pay off her family’s captors.

This week Grave Secrets examines the brutal stabbing to death of caseworker Tracey Bagwell, who was killed in her own car.

June 2001, in Florida and 36-year-old Tracey Bagwell had just returned from a vacation and was catching up with friends and family. A few days later her body was found inside her car in a church parking area, she’d been stabbed over 30 times.

Bagwell worked as a case worker in foster care and was passionate about her job and this might have even have aided her murderer. The investigation turned up a co-worker who had been embezzling funds amounting to over $100,000 from the very children that that Bagwell was so caring about.
