Another TV special looks at Modesto’s most infamous murder case …

As it closes in on 15 years since Laci Peterson was reported missing, the disappearance and murder of the Modesto mother-to-be continues to inspire interest with yet another television special set to debut this week.

Investigation Discovery will debut “Scott Peterson: An American Murder Mystery” on Wednesday evening at 8. It’s at least the third television show to look at the case just this year.

Laci Peterson was eight months pregnant when her husband, Scott, said he returned home from a fishing trip to find her missing from their Covena Avenue home on Christmas Eve 2002. A massive search ensued, with authorities combing nearby East La Loma Park, where Laci Peterson was believed to have taken the couple’s dog for a walk. Family and friends set up a volunteer center at a local hotel, where fliers and maps would be distributed and searches planned.

In January, 2003, police introduced Amber Frey at a

Another Mega Deal Lost

You can probably pack a potential mega deal between Verizon and The Walt Disney Co. along with all the other wished-for-but-never-realized mergers gathering dust in your media Hope Chest. But don’t throw away the key just yet.

Fox Business Network got a chance to shout out a question to Verizon CEO Lowell McAdam from behind the barriers at the Allen Co. summit in Sun Valley, Idaho, Wednesday asking the phone company chief if he was pursing a deal to buy the Walt Disney Co., to which he simply responded, “No.”

The Allen conference is the annual retreat for media giants and has been a veritable petri dish for some of the biggest deals in the space – Disney CEO Michael Eisner hatched the plan to buy Cap Cities ABC after bumping into Warren Buffett, who was on his way to the golf tees at the conference,

Tacos El Borrego de Oro is another option for Taco Tuesday – Las Cruces Sun

The newly opened Tacos El Borrego de Oro, 1800 N. Solano Drive, has a simple menu, but the dishes are packed with flavor. With specials and live music, the restaurant is offering more than meets the eye.

My fiancé and I have been scoping out Tacos El Borrego for months now. When it finally opened in mid-October, we were excited.
