This week Evil Lives Here spotlights the disturbing case of so-called Black Widow Blanche Taylor Moore, who may have poisoned five or more people.

Blanche Taylor Moore as born in Concord, NC, in 1933 and first got married in 1952 to James Taylor. The pair had two children together, though their families would soon be subject to some strange deaths.

First was Blanche’s father, Parker, whom she had an on and off relationship with. He passed away in 1966 with what would later be seen as the symptoms of arsenic poisoning. In 1970 James Taylor’s mother, 83-year-old Isla, also died in a similar manner.

A few years later in 1973 Blanche’s husband starts to get

Lewis Black and Loring Go Noir; Fake Prince Cons Winery

It must get stressful to be perpetually pissed off, but Grammy-winning comedian and rage maestro Lewis Black, a Daily Show contributor and onetime Root of All Evil host, knows how to unwind with a glass of wine, as he’s told us before. He’s also more charitable offstage, literally: A longtime supporter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Black hosts the organization’s annual Ultimate Golf Experience. At the event’s charity auction, Black and some friends bid on and won a particularly tasty lot: a “blend your own wine” session donated by California Pinot star Brian Loring of Loring Wine Company. Fresh off his trip to the Loring cellar, Black talked blending with Unfiltered.

The comedian and pals have made a tradition of bidding up the Loring lot since 2012, so they’ve nurtured a bit of a purple thumb over the past few years of tasting barrel samples and blending

Black History Month / Speaking for the dead

ri1.png

In 1926, the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History declared the second week of February “Negro History Week.”  The effort was to introduce the history of African Americans in public school and its timing was chosen to coincide with the birthdays of Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass.

Forty-three years later, the Black United Students at Kent State University proposed extending this to the full month and in 1970, Black History Month was celebrated for the first time.

On Wednesday February 8th, the Widener Commonwealth Law School will host the National Parks Conservation Association as speaker Alan Spears will discuss the contributions of African Americans to the history of national parks including Gettysburg, where African Americans managed supply lines for both the North and South and Valley Forge, where black soldiers fought the British on the front lines alongside white soldiers.

Spears is the NPCA’s Director

NAB 2016: O’Rielly Slams FCC’s ‘Black Box’ Proposal

RELATED: TPI Fellow Slams FCC Set-Top Proposal | Complete Coverage of the FCC’s Set-Top Plan

Republican FCC Commissioner Michael O’Rielly took aim at the FCC’s proposal to unlock cable set-top boxes, saying the FCC was redefining terms in an effort to “to use government to artificially cheapen the value of video content.”

“In a speech at the National Association of Broadcasters convention in Las Vegas, O’Rielly said calling it a set-top box proposal was a misnomer and that it was actually all about the FCC “taking a 90’s regime and redefining all of its terms to let the Commission get its hooks into all of the new technology that has developed since then, outside of the Commission’s authority.”

O’Rielly, who voted against the proposal, also took aim at the FCC’s media campaign promoting the proposal, including its #unlockthebox hashtag.

O’Rielly was speaking before a panel session, “Unlocking Pandora’s Box?

From fiery red hair to long, lean legs, it’s amazing to witness unique traits handed down the family line. But when a relative exhibits characteristics of a more malevolent manner, it raises an age-old debate with an unsettling twist: could nature have produced an evil mutation or has nurture created a monster?

Premiering Wednesday, August 28 at 9 PM E/P, Investigation Discovery’s new series EVIL KIN examines families unraveled by the cruel conduct of a black sheep. Murder. Abuse. Cult activity. Mind games. Identity theft. Even incest. Every town has “that family” that incites fear as much as it fuels morbid curiosity.
