New Baltimore couple’s murder subject of ‘Deadly Women’ episode

A young woman’s role in the horrific murders of a New Baltimore couple was the subject of an Investigation Discovery episode last week.

Samantha Bachynski’s involvement in the deaths of Scott and Melissa Berels were the topic of the ID channel’s “Deadly Women” series, which was set to air at 10 p.m. Friday.

Bachynski was convicted of two counts of first-degree murder and several other charges, along with Patrick Selepak, for the 2006 slayings of the Berels, both 27, in their home. Melissa Berels had befriended Selepak, who was the leader of a crime spree with Bachynski that also included the murder of a 53-year-old man in Genesee County in the days following the murders of the Berels.

Selepak first fatally strangled Melissa Berels, who was pregnant, and then with Bachynski’s help tortured Scott Berels before strangling him. Bachynski injected bleach into Scott Berels.

Things escalate between two frontiersmen before a tense stand-off with cops on Fear Thy Neighbor

Tonight’s episode of Fear Thy Neighbor on Investigation Discovery recounts the story of how a row between neighbors over a dog that frightened children got so heated that it left one of the neighbors dead.

The episode, titled Feud on the Frontier, revolves around two neighboring frontiersmen who apparently got along just fine until a dog belonging to one of them scared the other neighbor’s daughter and grandson.

A war between the neighbors ensued, one of them shot the other dead, and police had a tense standoff with the shooter.

Feud on the Frontier is the second episode in Fear Thy Neighbor, a new ID series that debuted last week.

Fear Thy Neighbor looks into a conflict between a couple who tragically lost their son

Tonight’s Fear Thy Neighbor on Investigation Discovery examines a conflict between a couple who tragically lost their son and a family with two boys that resulted in a deadly shooting.

In the episode, called Hysteria Lane, the couple are initially happy when the family moves in across the street. But then the relationship goes south, a conflict and accusation ensue, and the shooting occurs.

Albany murderer focus of ‘Deadly Women’episode

The savagery of deadly caretaker Sara Moore will be known far beyond Albany.

The convicted murderer who in 2014 bludgeoned defenseless patient Richard Englander, 79, and slashed his throat inside his Albany townhouse will be the subject of the show “Deadly Women” on the Investigation Discovery Channel at 9 p.m. Friday.

Moore, 37, formerly of Wynantskill, will be one of three killers profiled in the episode, titled “The Vulnerable.” The show will include interviews with Albany County Assistant District Attorney Shannon Sarfoh, who prosecuted the case and heads the Special Victims Unit, as well as with Law Beat, which is quite familiar with the case.

There’ll be more Deadly Sins for Investigation Discovery. Recently, the network announced they’ve renewed the series for a sixth season.

Hosted by Darren Kavinoky, the docuseries “recreates two ripped-from-the-headlines crimes that highlight the twisted tangled web woven from gluttony, greed, lust, envy, sloth, wrath and pride.”

Season six of Deadly Sins will debut in 2017.

‘Deadly Women’ series tackles Caddo murder for hire Oct. 8 – KSLA

CADDO PARISH, LA (KSLA) –

The murder-for-hire slaying of a Keithville farmer is the focus of a documentary airing Oct. 8.

Ernest Luttrell, 73, was killed in 2010. His stepdaughter Linda Kate Keeney Passaniti was convicted 3 years later.

“Killer In-laws,” episode 7 in series 10 of “Deadly Women,” will be shown at 8 p.m. Central on the Investigation Discovery Channel.

Caddo First Assistant District Attorney Laura Wingate Fulco was notified of the airing in an email this week from Jo Telfer, of Beyond International. 

A film crew from the Australian production company visited Shreveport in late February. Interviewer/producer Catherine Ledingham, videographer Peter Heap and sound engineer Bronson Wilson spent several hours interviewing Fulco, who was lead prosecutor on the case and at the time was head prosecutor for Section II of the Caddo district attorney’s office.
