Malaysia Will Probe Alleged Cover-up in Discovery of Mass Graves …

Malaysia will investigate allegations of a police cover-up in the 2015 discovery of mass graves that held corpses of scores of Rohingya Muslims from Myanmar and Bangladeshi migrants at human-trafficking camps in the jungle, a senior government official said Thursday.

Deputy Home Minister Nur Jazlan Mohamad spoke to BenarNews, an RFA-affiliated online news service, after a local newspaper, the New Straits Times (NST), published an exposé alleging that Malaysian authorities had known about the graves and camps close to Wang Kelian, a town near the Thai border in the northern state of Perlis, months before police publicly revealed the grim discovery.

When NST broke the story a day earlier, its reporters questioned his boss, Home Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad

Killing Fields: Season Three of Discovery Series Investigates Chilling Virginia Homicide

“Across America, there are isolated places that appear untouched. Isle of Wight is an isolated farmland community in Virginia – miles from nearly everything and everyone. But the quiet community was marked by a gruesome homicide its residents cannot forget. In the summer of 2004, 28-year-old Carrie Singer was found beaten to death and

DNAFinnish cable and digital-terrestrial pay TV operator DNA has said it could drop Discovery’s channels on January 1 after being unable to meet the factual channel’s demand for higher distribution fees.

DNA said it will drop SD and HD versions of Animal Planet, Discovery Channel, Discovery HD Showcase, Discovery Science, Discovery World, Investigation Discovery, Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 2 across all networks – cable, terrestrial, IPTV and mobile – if the pair fail to agree terms.

The current deal between the pair expires at the end of December.

We are actively working on reaching an extension agreement with Discovery. Negotiations are ongoing, and we hope that they will lead to a resolution as soon as possible,” said Pekka Väisänen, SVP of DNA’s consumer business.

The dispute is the latest in a series between Discovery and distributors in the Nordic region and elsewhere. The programmer’s
