State of the nation drama.
Peter Kosminsky’s four-part drama “The State” was broadcast over consecutive nights on Channel 4 last week and has been praised by critics as “compelling” and “essential viewing”. The story follows British Muslims who travel to join ISIS and their experiences inside the radical Islamist state in Syria. Kosminsky wrote and directed but is best known for directing the TV adaptation of Hilary Mantel’s “Wolf Hall” and drama “The Promise”.

County Coroner Graham Hetrick starts work on The Coroner: I Speak for the Dead

This week on The Coroner: I Speak for the Dead examines the case of career soldier Sam Gore, who was stabbed to death in his own home.

Harrisburg, Pa, and Sam Gore’s pregnant fiancée finds him dead in his home, he’s been stabbed repeatedly in a savage attack.

Dauphin County Coroner Graham Hetrick is tasked with analysing the stab wounds to see if any clues can be gained from their pattern or nature. He works out that the killer did his knife work up very close and that he might well have had some sort of close combat knife training.

‘The Coroner: I Speak For the Dead’ Season 2 Premiere: Coroner Graham Hetrick Shares Compelling Cases

“The Coroner: I Speak For the Dead” takes homicide cases and doesn’t put us inside a courtroom or a police station. The show, which premieres for a second season on Investigation Discovery, looks at the how and why of a person’s death from a medical perspective.

That would come from the coroner, and in the case of this series, it’s Graham Hetrick. He shares the most compelling homicide cases in his 26 years as the Coroner of Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. It is his decision after examination that becomes the cause of death on certificates.

Season 2 of ‘The Coroner’ set to premiere this month

Season two of “The Coroner: I Speak for the Dead” is set to premiere on July 17 on Investigation Discovery.

The show stars Dauphin County Coroner Graham Hetrick and features real cases from the Harrisburg region. It gained a faithful legion of fans after the first season aired in 2016.

Hetrick appeared on Daybreak Friday to talk about his newfound fame and what to expect in the latest episodes.

If you’d like to meet Hetrick, you can meet him at Allenberry Resort on August 12.  He’s hosting a viewing party for an episode from season two and will take questions afterwards.

The event will support The Salvation Army and Bethesda Mission’s drug and alcohol treatment and recovery programs, through a portion of the proceeds.

Spike Sets Docuseries On Missing Ohio Women For July Premiere

Spike TV has partnered with Oscar-nominated and Emmy-winning documentarian Joe Berlinger (Paradise Lost trilogy) on Gone: The Forgotten Women of Ohio, an eight-hour event series about the deaths and disappearances of six young women in southern Ohio. It’s set for premiere Saturday, July 22 at 9 PM on Spike.

Directed and executive produced by Berlinger, Gone: The Forgotten Women of Ohio tells a tragic story that has plagued the small town of Chillicothe, OH, over the past few years. Six women mysteriously disappeared. Four of the victims’ bodies have been discovered, while two women remain missing. The investigation, which is still active and happening in real time, has extended to additional cities in the region as the body count has expanded beyond the original six.
